uSky Transport jointly with its key partners Al Serh Al Kabeer Construction and Galadari Engineering Works, as well as International Engineering Consultants, keeps on working on the construction of Test Track 4 at SRTI Park. The site runs with the erection of the track structure glitch free 6 days a week, and the completion date is scheduled for the end of this year.

Set-up of cranes and relevant heavy-lifting machinery as preliminaries for the subsequent lowering of bottom chord strands. The lowering activities are performed as per the established process map and with the use of proper jigs

The lowered strands are laid into drivers for keeping the shape and section. The drivers are installed at a specific height and pitch and they facilitate the shaping of bottom chord at further erection stages

Preliminaries for jig mounting for the top chord suspension on intermediate supports. Pre-assemblies done in advance to save the time – semi-knocked-down kits are handled

Strand lowering is near completion. For efficiency and cost reduction, same cranes are to be used for the jig mounting for subsequent erection stage

Lowering stage is over. The jigs to be removed while the cord shall keep the shape

Shaping the cord section is crucial at all the stages of erection. It starts from anchor supports. The positioning of each individual strand is a function of the anchor nodes structure and the jigs

Top and bottom chords feature different shapes, which are determined by the structural assemblability, reliability, wind loads, and workability

At this stage, the strands position to be controlled relative to each other, as this is the start of to-be EV wheel track arrangement

Telehandler with 1 gang of workmen suffice to handle the strands. The jig in use excludes eventual errors and ensure the safety of operations

To date, top chord is suspended on strand jacks mounted on intermediate supports. Next stage is merging the chords with hangers
