A major event took place at the uSky Test & Certification Centre: uBus Carat has made the first successful travel on Test Track 4 under power supplied straight from the actual string-rail track. This technological breakthrough highlights the capabilities of innovative transport system designed by uSky Transport's professionals and demonstrates potential of uSky Transport & Infrastructure Solutions to transport passengers and goods sustainably and efficiently.

String-rail systems represent an innovative approach to transport, as rolling stock moves suspended on tensioned steel strands. Thus, high operating speed and low energy consumption are provided. Using electricity straight from track to power the uBus Carat demonstrates advanced and efficient nature of this system, which can reduce dependence on conventional energy and reduce its carbon footprint.

uPods are energy independent. Transport will continue to move if main power supply is cut off. Even if catenary system fails completely, uBus Carat will be able to get to nearest station. For this purpose, energy storage unit onboard this electric rail vehicle will be used
